An amazing women retreat of the International Baptist Church gathered 70 women together for the theme of God-Given Gifts! With over five languages speaking around the room, we were there to serve God with the gifted us.

Secondary School Class-based Expressive Arts Workshop

We began with interactive games, opening each other’s hearts in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. From individual creation to collaborative creation, we practiced expressing ourselves step by step — starting with free creation in our own personal space, learning to recognize personal boundaries, and understanding how to respect and appreciate both ourselves and others. Finally, each student wrote a sentence to their artwork — it might be words of gratitude, encouragement, or a promise to themselves.

We brought a group of SEN older children to form the letters L.O.V.E. and a heart shape with their body movements, and together we shaped the word ‘love’ using pipe cleaners. In every stretch, every bend, every moment of collaboration, we weren’t just making art — we were experiencing unconditional acceptance. It turned out that God’s love can be so tangible — in the soft touch of fuzzy fabric, in the smiles we shared as we worked together, and in the joy of being truly seen.

Mindful Aroma Stone ✕ Expressive Arts Workshop for Parents
19 September, Friday
Through gentle yoga and the creation of mindful aroma stones, we guided parents to relax their bodies and minds, enjoy moments of mindfulness, and learn the attitude of being “steady yet gentle”. During the session, parents were engaged and relaxed, choosing their favorite scents to create their own little vases or crescent moon candle holders.

Expressive Arts Workshop
for Elderly with Dementia
22 August, Friday
We held an expressive arts workshop with eight elderly with dementia, allowing them to be present in the moment and connect with others. The elderly followed the rhythm and music, stretching their hands and mimicking cooking actions. They also touched and smelled green onions, cilantro, dried tangerine peel, and ginger to stimulate their imagination. Additionally, by kneading soft clay, they gradually created their own little dishes. Finally, we moved our hands to the music and enjoyed a meal together!

Expressive Arts Workshop
for Secondary Students

After the exams, a group of Form 1 students experienced expressive arts under our facilitation, exploring different arts modalities to express their thoughts. They mimicked the movement of paper with their bodies and pretended to be everyday objects like soda machines, microwave ovens, and pencil sharpeners. Gradually, they imagined what objects they would like to become to make their lives comfortable and at ease. In the end, the students expressed their ideas through drawing or writing.

During the students’ exam week, we held a self-care expressive arts workshop with the teachers. Through guided imagery and gentle music, we helped the teachers relieve stress. They also engaged their five senses, discovering their needs through tea leaves, and then used unconventional inks (such as chocolate, coffee, and matcha) to paint and write, expressing their thoughts and inspirations.

We worked with a group of primary three and four students with learning needs, experiencing an expressive arts workshop. During the warm-up, they were very excited, using their bodies, chairs, and silk scarves to strike unique poses, and then imagined how to portray their own animals. Ultimately, each student created a comfortable environment for their animal, constructing their safe space around a central “Tower of the Forest.”

We held an expressive arts workshop with a group of fellowship members. During the session, participants followed the rhythm, stretched their bodies, and acted like animals. Finally, on a large piece of paper, everyone directly expressed their imaginations to create a shared forest home.





Women's Art Launchpad: Empowerment Program
for Women through Expressive Arts
26 April, Saturday & 4 May, Sunday
A group of ladies from the Yau Tsim Mong district participated in a one-and-a-half-day expressive arts experience led by registered expressive arts therapists.
Through the sounds of musical instruments, visual art creation, and written reflections, the ladies engaged in self-dialogue and built confidence. Additionally, they paired up for rhythmic vocal interactions and improvisational role play, which helped them release emotions and manage stress, ultimately leading to self-exploration and transformation. Finally, they showcased their graceful sides in a catwalk, fully highlighting their personal qualities.
The program was organized by Arts Sailing Cultural Association, sponsored by the Women’s Commission, with support from AU Chor Kwan’s Office

We collaborated with the Grace Baptist Church to hold an expressive arts experiential workshop, allowing youth to learn about themselves, become aware of their emotions, and ultimately embrace and accept themselves.

Expressive Arts Therapy Group (9 sessions)

We conducted a 9-session expressive arts therapy group for junior secondary school students, aiming to enhance communication and build confidence. The therapists encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones through drama, movement, and visual arts, fostering interaction and connection among group members during the creative process.







Public Talk and Expressive Arts Experiential Booth

We were invited to participate in the Carers’ Day organized by the MIP Care Resources Connect (MIPCRC). Through the introduction of expressive arts therapy and the booth activities, we helped carers and the public be aware of their mental health and receive mutual support.

We conducted an expressive arts workshop for Primary 6 students to relax. Through improvisational rhythms and body movements, they used art materials to create comforting companion items to alleviate stress.

Form-based One-off Expressive Arts Emotional Awareness Workshop
21 Feb, Friday
We, along with friendly registered art (expressive arts) therapists, led Form 5 students at a secondary school in Tai Po to explore various forms of expressive arts. Throughout the process, students became aware of their emotions and had a taste of non-judgmental improvisational music experiences, expressing their experiences and insights on round card paper.

Lunar New Year Market

We participated in the Lunar New Year market organized by the Grace Baptist Church. Through the experience of playing musical instruments, moving body and writing Chinese calligraphy at the expressive arts booth, we brought joy and wishes to the community, fostering continued mental growth in the new year.

The MIP Care Resources Connect (MIPCRC) and the Hong Chi Association invited registered expressive arts therapists from Fun & Care Expressive Arts Therapy Hub to participate in the Arts@the Peak event held at the Secretary for Justice’s Residence.
Together with participants and caregivers , they
engaged in fun and interactive expressive arts activities to convey emotions, unleash creativity throughout the process, and build positive energy.

Community-based Expressive Arts Experiential Workshop for Elderly Residents

We collaborated with Make a Difference Institute to conduct an expressive arts experiential workshop for elderly residents in Tai Kok Tsui. The elderly participants stretched their bodies to the rhythm of music and transformed their movements into a collaboratively created coral scene, sharing their joy in the process.

We participated in the 2024 Family Fun Day during an international school’s open day. Through experiences at the expressive arts experiential booth, such as improvisational music and visual art creation, students and parents were able to express their joy and fun, placing their emotions on the Christmas tree at the booth.

Expressive Arts Couples Group at Family Ties Integrated Family Service Centre

We provided a four-session expressive arts couples group at the Hong Kong Christian Service Family Ties Integrated Family Service Centre. Five couples expressed their inner thoughts through various art modalities, thereby understanding each other’s needs and enriching their marital relationships.
